A Year in Review: 2025 in Idaho Springs

There are years that rush past us in a blur, and then there are years that ask something of us.

2025 was the latter.

It was a year of movement and momentum, of questions and clarity, of listening closely while still moving forward. A year where Idaho Springs continued to grow, adapt, and deepen into who we are becoming...together.

This is a reflection on where we’ve been, what we built, and what we learned along the way.

Strengthening the Foundation

This year marked an important chapter in how Idaho Springs tells its story.

We launched a refreshed city brand and a fully rebuilt Visit Idaho Springs website, creating a clearer, more welcoming digital front door for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. The site expanded business listings, event calendars, and trip-planning tools, helping people not just find Idaho Springs, it is about understanding our story.

Behind the scenes, this work was about more than design. It was about coherence. About making it easier to navigate our town, our offerings, and our values, both online and on the ground.

Events as Gathering Places

In Idaho Springs, events aren’t just dates on a calendar. They’re places where people meet.

From Fur-Ling Fest and Miner Street block parties to the Fourth of July Town Party and Holiday Ramble Weekend, 2025 brought people downtown again and again, locals and visitors sharing streets, stories, music, food, and laughter.

Some events were big and bustling. Others were small and intimate. All of them served the same purpose: supporting local businesses, activating public spaces, and reminding us that community doesn’t happen automatically...it’s something we tend, season by season.

Listening as Leadership

This year, we leaned into conversation.

Quarterly Community Conversations created space for residents and business owners to ask questions, share concerns, and stay connected to major projects like the Downtown Master Plan, parking changes, and mobility planning.

These conversations weren’t always simple—but they were honest. And in a time of construction, growth, and transition, honesty matters.

Listening became a form of leadership.

Navigating Change with Care

2025 required resilience.

Between I-70 construction impacts, parking system changes, and evolving visitor patterns, Idaho Springs had to adapt in real time. Clear communication, data-informed decision-making, and strong partnerships helped us stay grounded.

Sales tax trends showed steady performance across the year, reinforcing what many already felt on the ground: despite challenges, people continue to show up for Idaho Springs.

That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens through care, coordination, and commitment.

Partnerships that Carry Us Forward
Partnerships that Carry Us Forward

Much of what worked in 2025 worked because we didn’t do it alone.

Collaboration with local businesses, nonprofit partners, CCMRD, ARGO, Clear Creek County, CDOT, and regional tourism organizations strengthened everything from events to marketing to long-range planning.

When we move together, the work feels lighter—and the impact travels farther.

Looking Ahead

If 2025 was about building the container, 2026 will be about filling it with intention.

Wayfinding implementation, expanded events, deeper storytelling through local business portraits, refined parking programs, and continued community engagement are all on the horizon.

We carry forward what we’ve learned:

That clarity creates ease.

That community thrives when it’s invited in.

That growth rooted in care lasts longer.

Thank you to everyone!! Residents, business owners, partners, volunteers, and visitors, who helped shape this year. Idaho Springs is not just a place we market or manage.

It’s a place we tend.

And we’re just getting started.
