YOUR VISIT
Your Gateway to the Rockies Starts Here
Whether you're coming for a day, a weekend, or the kind of visit that turns into tradition, Idaho Springs makes it easy to dive in. Just 30 miles from Denver, our mountain town offers that perfect mix of adventure, history, and heart—with all the info you need to plan your trip right here.

GETTING HERE
Close to Denver,
Miles from Ordinary
Idaho Springs is just 30 miles west of Denver on I-70, making it one of the easiest mountain towns to get to, whether you’re behind the wheel or letting someone else do the driving.

CAR
From Denver
Head west on I-70 and take Exit 241 or 239 into Idaho Springs.
From Summit County
Travel east on I-70—just over the pass, and you’re here.
Pro Tip:
We know I-70 can get a little jammed with construction traffic. Before you head out, check COtrip to plan ahead or text floydhill to 21000 for real-time updates.

AIRPORT SHUTTLES
Airport Shuttles are also available from DIA to Idaho Springs, and more options are listed at GoI70.com/transit.

TRANSIT
(Yes, You Can Go Car-Free!)
Skip the stress and enjoy a completely car-free adventure with Bustang, Pegasus, or Outrider, which run from Denver Union Station and the Federal Center directly to Idaho Springs. These services also continue west to Summit County, Eagle County, and beyond—making it easy to extend your trip.
Once you arrive, hop on the free Roundabout bus, which connects visitors to downtown Idaho Springs and other stops throughout Clear Creek County.
Uber and Lyft can get you to Idaho Springs, but rides back to Denver aren’t always reliable. The good news—once you’re here, you won’t need much. Idaho Springs is an easy town to explore on foot or bike, with sidewalks and trails connecting most of the town.

CARPOOL
Try TreadShare, a Colorado-based carpool app that connects drivers and passengers going the same direction—so you can ride together and split the cost.
PRO TIP:
Check COtrip to plan ahead or text floydhill to 21000 for real-time updates.
A little planning makes the drive smoother and gives you more time to enjoy the adventure once you’re here.
